This is the posting thread for the 30 Day September Challenge (info and rules here)! Feel free to join us and post your photos below :)

One post per user please - let's keep this thread uncluttered. Instead, edit your post as the challenge runs and replace your daily image in the same post, so that everyone can monitor your submissions. ("Extra posts" will be moved/removed).

You are very welcome to display a few days at the samt time if you want to. Like say the shot of the day, and a couple of the days before.

This thread is only for those who want to play. Want to comment? Feel free to do so on the "pages" (blogs, Flickr, Smugmug, etc.) of the participants, or if they don't have any, you can comment in "the comment thread".

It has been a very long time since I have played here. I hope I can remember how. I am trying to learn light blading and light tubing, so my intention is to take a learning photo every day... It was a fun run as usual... I am sorry that I did not comment as much as I should, but work had me buried... You all did a fantastic job sticking with the entire month!!! Good Job Ya'll!!!

--------------------------------------------------
SPRING - IS IN THE AIR
--------------------------------------------------

Day 30.

Some parting shots for the final day...

1. The Hercules C130.
If you've never flown in a Hercules C130 - very affectionately referred to as a 'Vlossie' by South African veterans - then you don't know what you're missing. It is terrifying, it is LOUD, it is dark and it is exceptionally uncomfortable (at least it used to be, perhaps they've upgraded conditions since I was on one) Anyway they were, and I suppose still are, very much loved because they always bring you home - albeit with a cracking headache and a couple of days worth of ringing in the ears :- )

Actually, I've just realised I don't know what 'Vlossie' means in English (any ideas Pietopper?)

2. A squadron of helicopters gives a final fly-by for the day

3. A group of 'rescued' soldier fly off safely into the distance and all's well that ends well - despite breaking my own rule about never freezing helicopter blades - but I figured maybe a silhouette is a reasonable exception ;-)

Many thanks to all for another 30 days of great images. I hope you have enjoyed mine as much as I have yours.

All the Best

You write about the moon, but you're wrong about the stars.

8 years ago I did a W1k January 30 day challenge that became a 365 challenge, celebrating the first year of my son's life. So I think the theme this time will be a very loose one around "family".

Day 30 - I can't choose so you get two... :-)

We started off trying to get a nice family portrait. Then things got a bit silly....

Thanks for viewing everyone! :-)

All done, and it has been a great month. If you watched the image numbers, the M50 progressed from 0259 to 2222 in this month, and I've been quite happy with how the little thing performed. It will definitely shorten the wait for the R :) Well, all done, alle fine, moving on.

Great job everybody, thanks for the game.

Late to the party...I am both a day ahead and a day behind :)
In October last year, my husband and I had our first overseas holiday together in over 15 years. We enjoyed Noumea and New Caledonia so much we are going back later this month. So to get in the mood I thought I would process some more images from our previous trip and get some ideas on what to look for and improve on next time.

Image collection is at https://plus.google.com/u/0/collection/0SIUYF for slightly larger versions

It has been fun playing without the pressure of commenting everyday, and I have enjoyed seeing your images over the last 30 days.

Day 30 - Local lads enjoying the warmer weather. Anse Vata beach with Ile aux Canards in the background.

Day 29 - Sail boarder giving us a demonstration of hydro foiling on the way back from Ile aux Canards, Noumea
