Upcoming contests

Postby MrsHjort » Thu May 17, 2018 10:09 am

This is a locked topic that will announce upcoming contests ahead of time, in order to give you all extra time to get your creative juices flowing and plan your entries in advance. So if you're interested in what's coming up, just pop in here and find out

Contest rules

These contest rules apply to the all the corresponding contests below. If you are unsure about what's allowed or what a specific contest entails you're more than welcome to ask the photo quartermasters; mickey2bagz or Defyaugury

Advanced contests:
All entries must abide by the entry requirements as stated in the FAQs.

Bonus contests:
All entries must abide by the entry requirements as stated in the FAQs. Sometimes, Bonus Contests may allow you to use methods or techniques that are not allowed by default. If the rules differ from the ordinary ones in any way, it will be stated so in the contest description.

Freestyle contests:
Freestyle contests are designed to allow complete artistic freedom of expression. They do not follow the usual editing allowances and the standard Photo deck editing rules are set aside. Blending of multiple images using photo editing tools, textures and overlays, artistic effects including elements of illustration and lighting changes are all allowed. The finished image is what matters and how you achieve that is up to you. However, these contests are Photo deck contests and your photograph(s) must always remain the main subjects, other components are all allowed but should be supportive to the main photographs.

Advanced: Cemetaries - CONTEST OPEN
Cemetaries can be beautiful places, some are full of wonderful stonework in colorful surroundings, some full of dark gothic imagery, show us your finest examples!

Bonus: Surrealism - Date TBD
Surrealism through the lens can be pretty cool! Forced perspective shots, levitations, creative light painting - do whatever you want, as long as it's an effect created through traditional means. Find lots of inspiration here.
Please note that normal photo editing allowances and rules will still apply. We will however be a bit more allowing when it comes to cloning, meaning you are allowed to remove the things you need to use to create the illusion of an effect (such as strings or supports etc.), should you choose to use them.
To boldly arrrrr where no pirate has steered before :captain:
