This is the posting thread for the 2017 Photo Processing Challenge (info and rules here)! Feel free to join us and post your photos below.

This thread is only for those who want to play. So, if you're in, feel free to post below.

One post per user please - let's keep this thread uncluttered. Instead, edit your post as the challenge runs and replace your daily image in the same post, so that everyone can monitor your submissions. ("Extra posts" will be moved/removed).

You are very welcome to display a few days at the samt time if you want to. Like say the shot of the day, and a couple of the days before.

Do you want to comment? Feel free to do so on the "pages" (blogs, Flickr, Smugmug, etc.) of the participants, or if they don't have any, you can comment in "the comment thread".

Starting june 22 2016 I walked the 26 tracks of the iconic dutch Pieterpad, almost 500 km from the northern village Pieterburen to the southern Pietersberg. More information on the Pieterpad :
On august 31 2017 I finished on the Pietersberg. Mission accomplished!
This editing challenge will allow me to edit at least one photo a day but I hope to edit a spread a day for the album I intend to create as well.

The walk actually took me 27 days. At some point I tried to speed up editing the walking days so now I have about 8 days left for some odd picks from the entire Pieterpad harvest. I plan to also create some themed spreads in the book as well.

Challenge Day 30 It seems I pushed the wrong button yesterday, it went well on smugmug & FB

Of course I love reading your comments, click on the photo to go to the album. You can also find the spreads there.

This month's challenege :
Photos taken with a Tamron 150-600 F5-6.3 Di VC USD lens.
Images of wildlife (mainly birds) and planes.

30. Regal Eagle

America has their Bald-Headed Eagle, and we have this beautiful bad boy.

I've saved him for last and replaced my normal bonus shots with him because he is my absolute favourite African creature by a country mile.
You have not truly lived in Africa until you have seen him snatch a fish from the river with those deadly talons (every wildlife photographer's dream) or heard his iconic cry ('The Call of Africa') it truly makes the hair on your neck stand on end, and if photo's had sounds you would hear it coming from the second shot.

Many thanks to all the visitors who have dropped into this forum throughout the month to check out our daily progress of this fun event. Well done to all of those who made it to the end, and a special nod to 12oakhill for correctly identifying all the birds I threw in the ring (well most of them anyway :-) ).
Much appreciation also to those who took the time to comment and also to MrsH for setting it up as well as her relentlessly encouragement.

I usually drive and camp in a tent when I travel around the USA. That allows me to get deeper into the backcountry. My trusty Jeep with 4-wheel drive also helps with this.

For the 30-day challenge, I'll be post processing my travel photos, most of which have been gathering cobwebs in my hard drive. I'll be uploading them here.

First travel album is Baguio.

Day 13: Bananas at the Baguio City Public Market
*Please click on the images to visit my site page. Thanks!

The Baguio City Public Market is a feast for the senses! Everywhere there is something that will hook one's attention--the colorful array of veggies and brooms, the scent of flowers or fish, the lively chatter of vendors and customers...

A giant green net under the roof casts a greenish tint to the main area, giving it an almost surreal ambience as if underwater.

I am using this as an excuse to finally edit some of the slides I scanned that were taken by a Navy man during the Korean conflict 1950 to 1952. I know very little about them, so if you recognize anything/have stories to tell, etc. I am delighted to hear it. I value all your help and advice!

I'm quite sure these pictures were taken in the same place at almost the same time. It's amazing what a difference pov makes!
