BJ’sT Game Suggestion Thread

Postby Underdog » Sun Mar 22, 2020 12:51 am

With my computer down, I had no idea which way my thoughts or efforts might go. The last time I took pictures, I had to give my memory card to my son so he could download them and mail the card back to me.

Now all of you are in the same bucket as me, with all kinds of free time, except y’all can edit pictures.

So here’s a thread for suggestions of different kinds of word games. This way we don’t clutter the BJ’sT board with lousy game attempts, and you all get to say what kinds of games interest you.

And, I get game ideas I can play with my grandson for free.
I bought my friend an elephant for his room. He said, "Thanks." I said, "Don't mention it."

I’ll start with a successful car game we used to play on the road:

Think of a noun. Players guess a word and the thinker tells them whether the noun falls before or after the guess in the dictionary. It’s really fun when you don’t have a computer or dictionary available.

Spoiler alert: Both of my sons are very intelligent. When I went with my younger son on a field trip to NASA in Houston, my son’s best friend warned the kids on the bus, “They play hard games!”

I used to be able to do the cryptoquips in the paper without using pen and paper.

Here’s a cool sight that does the cryptology for you:

Another way to do the limerick would be one line at a time.
The person who ends the limerick would start the next one.

The first post would look like this:

There once was a fisherman’s son

And then someone would add one line and wait...
