Mythical Creatures: Golem
Aug 14, 2016
The rules for this contest are thus: In Jewish folklore, a Golem is in animated anthropomorphic being, created entirely from inanimate matter.
There are many differing tales of how the Golem was brought to life and then controlled. One says he was an entity created out of clay that was brought to life by inserting into his mouth a shem (a capsule containing the name of God). The rabbi who created this Golem wrote the word emet, the Hebrew word for truth, on his forehead and to immobilize him he pulled out the shem. In another the shem was a small ball placed in the Golem's forehead.
Your job, mythical creature choppers, is to show us your interpretation of a Golem. A fearsome scary Golem, or a gentle giant like our thempost. It's totally up to you.
Please do not use ready made sources, you must create your Golem from scratch.
Note: This is NOT Gollum from "Lord of the Rings"!
